Lebo, Maria and Lerato journyed down to a wet Durban for the 2009 Tourism Indaba held at the ICC from 9 to 12 May. Soweto Bicycle Tours exhibited at a stand in the Gauteng Tourism Authority section. Indaba was, as usual, very busy and the stand had many visitors. Highlights of Indaba was the pre-Indaba party at Tekweni Backpackers with guests testing their karaoke skills and the Fair Trade in Tourism cocktail evening where the team networked with representatives from other businesses that are also Fair Trade accredited. The team also attended the VIP party hosted by NOW Media at a swish club on Florida Road. Unfortunately, the annual Beach Party was rained out and the group took the opportunity to head back to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.
